Fund A Hackbright Engineering Fellow This Spring 2014!

This Spring 2014, Shannon Burns is attending Hackbright Academy as an engineering fellow to become a software engineer.

She is raising $25,000 to cover tuition, room and board for the 10-week program.

“I’m a 24 year old female from a low-income background making the career change and by my 25th birthday I will be a software developer. And I want to fix the girl-to-dave ratio by donating 10% of my first year’s salary to help fund tuition for a coding intensive program for another woman like me. The catch? She will be required to do the same. And so on and so forth.
And I need your help.

Fund me so I can fund it forward and together we can change the industry one woman at a time.

With your help, I’ll be able to launch Project Women in Tech (W.i.T.), a fund-it-forward scholarship program to enable those who identify as women to be the solution to the gender gap in technology,” she writes on her fundraising page.
