Enrollment Deadline: April 17 – FULL
This course is for women who are interested in mastering basic programming fundamentals and a career change into software engineering. Our students have come from various professional backgrounds with these commonalities:
The part-time course at Hackbright truly set me up for the ultimate success during the fellowship. Not only was I taught core Python concepts, syntax and tricks, I was also taught HOW to learn as a developer, allowing me to be an effective programmer in any language.
The part time class also gave me confidence that I definitely wanted to be a software engineer, and helped me transition smoothly into the full-time fellowship.
I was a little intimidated entering the bootcamp but I am so thankful that I took the part-time class because it gave me a solid foundation of Python. Without this, I would have had to work that much harder. Not too mention I met some great supportive women who are interested in the same thing programming.
This exclusive one-week full-time prep course is offered at $250 total (entire $250 will be applied to a full-time fellowship course, if you decide to enroll after prep).
Because of this one-time, low cost, seats will sell out, so we encourage early enrollment.
Why do you teach Python in this course instead of other languages?
This is the language used in the full-time Fellowship. The reason Hackbright focuses on Python is because its simplicity lets students focus on fundamental programming concepts instead of having to deal with unnecessary (and hard to look at) language syntax common to many other languages. It’s a great professional language that you can build on and it’s used by top companies.
How is this course different from the Hackbright Prep part-time course?
The greatest difference is time and cost. Our goal with full-time immersive prep program is to give women a faster option if they’re ready to make the commitment to becoming a software engineer but just need to increase their technical experience and knowledge.
How does Hackbright Prep prepare me for Hackbright Academy’s Full-Time Fellowship?
Hackbright Prep full-time course will fulfill the 40 hour coding requirement for the Fellowship. This class will give you a solid foundation in Python. The reasons for laying a strong foundation in coding before applying to the Fellowship are twofold: The first reason is that it is important for you to know you love to code before you commit to doing it all day, every day. The second reason is that it allows you to have the skills you need to apply to the Fellowship and take the coding challenge. You’ll feel more prepared and ready to take on this new career change.
