I love the addictive nature of writing code for a certain purpose, and then the giddy, goddess-like feeling that I get as a result of making my program work. I also love the compositional aspect of programming– the challenge of succinctness– and, similarly, the way it feels to approach fluency in a programming language.
I initially was drawn to coding out of curiosity. I used the Internet so often, and yet I didn’t know how it worked. Additionally, despite having studied Gender and Women’s studies, I had held various technical roles, from data analyst to radio producer to swim workout generator, and regretted not having studied computer science in college. So, I decided it wasn’t too late and committed to learning Python.
