Hackbright Academy’s women-only policy is shaping the tech world and scholarships help ensure everyone is included in the movement. Companies that are passionate about our mission to achieve gender equality and diversity in the field provide these opportunities. Scholarships available at this time are listed below. Please refer to individual program application deadlines for specific scholarship dates.
Tuition for the Full-Time and Part-Time Software Engineering Programs is $16,895. Students who’ve completed Hackbright Prep are eligible for a $1,500 discount off of their tuition and student who have completed Online Python 101 are eligible for a $695 discount off of their tuition (cannot be combined with any other promotional discounts or scholarships).
Hackbright Phenomenal Woman Scholarship
Hackbright Academy will award two $8,000 scholarships to two phenomenal women who demonstrate incredible technical ability and dedication to pursuing a software engineering career.
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated based on a technical work sample and performance on the technical interview.
Applications for this scholarship are on a rolling admissions basis.
2019 Quip Diversity Scholarship
Our friends at Quip team will review applications, choose winners and runners-up, and then invite them to our office in San Francisco for a full day of all-expenses-paid learning and mentorship. Each scholarship winner will receive $5,000 and each runner-up will receive $1,000 toward their education.
- Are part of a group that has been historically underrepresented in STEM (including but not limited to: Women, Black, LatinX, Native American, first-generation college students, LGBTQ+, and/or people with disabilities)
- Have demonstrated interest or declaration of studying computer science or a related field.
- Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate or masters student in the U.S. or Canada, graduating in 2019 or later. We are also accepting applications from students who are currently enrolled in or accepted into a full-time, onsite cohort in one of these coding programs.

The New Relic Scholarship (exclusive to Hackbright Academy)
New Relic is proud to offer three $2-5K scholarships for women in the Portland Metro area who would like a chance to pursue a career in software engineering at Hackbright Academy.
Scholarship applicants must live in the Portland Metro area and be part of a diverse group of individuals including but not limited to women of color, LGBTQ community and any historically underrepresented groups in the field of computer science.
This scholarship is on a rolling admissions basis.
How To Apply
To apply for a scholarship, students must be accepted into the program and have submitted a deposit. Upon enrollment, students complete a brief application form and provide supporting documentation on their finances.
